For the most part, what we discuss is completely confidential, meaning what happens in session, stays in session. However, there are some instances in which I, legally and ethically, will have to disclose information. These are the most common reasons:
While there is a huge surge in the need for mental health services and for some using their insurance is most cost effective, I am currently choosing not to include insurance in my practice and in your treatment. Insurance companies not only require a significant diagnoses, which some clients do not meet, but often review and audit treatment notes to assess, “medical necessity.” If they determine that either medical necessity is not met or progress is not being made quickly enough, they may end payment for treatment and/or limit the number of sessions a client can attend. Excluding insurance allows the client to have greater control of treatment while ensuring private information remain private. For those who have PPO insurance, I would be happy to provide you with a “superbill,” which is an itemized invoice for services received. It will be the responsibility of the client to determine if their insurance will accept the claim and submit the invoice for reimbursement.
A standard 50 minute session is $150
A 90 minute session is $225
I am available to provide a discounted rate on a limited basis to those especially in need for services who are experiencing financial instability or hardship. This can be discussed and determined during the initial phone consultation.
If you are unable to attend a scheduled session, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations and no shows will be charged the full rate of the session.
